The 2022 Excellence in Exit Planning Awards
“Our nominees are role models for us all. They show us what success looks like in the CEPA community. These advisors show us how to effectively use the CEPA. They are leaders because they not only show us, but get us to believe in a worthy cause.” – Chris Snider, Exit Planning Institute
During the annual Exit Planning Summit, The Exit Planning Institute (EPI) gives three distinct awards to nominees who display excellence and leadership in the industry. During the tenth annual summit in 2022, I had the honor of winning one of these prestigious awards: The Thought Leader of the Year.
A Spotlight on the Exit Planning Institute
The host of the Excellence in Exit Planning Awards is also a market leader in exit planning content generation and education. The Exit Planning Institute was established in 2005 as a professional education organization. Today, the Institute certifies and supports thousands of exit and succession planning professionals across the country through programming initiatives like events and webinars, including the 2022 Exit Planning Summit. The Exit Planning Institute has evolved into an organization that’s respected worldwide by all the major players in financial and professional services, and partners with many of them on a regular basis. The Summit partner this year was UBS Financial Services, so they presented the award.
EPI’s Thought Leader of the Year
Although I previously won the EPI Thought Leader of the Year award in 2017, it was an extra special honor to win this year because there were many more CEPAs that were eligible to receive it. As I mentioned in my acceptance speech, I really believe that winning this award is a call to action. It represents an aspiration or challenge to be better, and constantly pursue ways to lead as a thought leader in today’s professional world. We’re all on a learning journey as advisers. As a student for life, I constantly look for ways to grow and improve my skills for the benefit of those I advise, teach and inspire, and this award is a reassurance that I’m on the right track.
